Default FSX Radeon Graphics

Hi im new to this forum and I looked at some of the posts about my issue but havent found anything really usefull.

Here are my specs:
Intel Quad-Core Q9650
8GB DDR2 Ram
750GB Momentus XT Solid-State Hybrid Hard Drive
Windows 7 (64-bit)
AMD Radeon HD 6870 2GB

I installed FSX on my computer installed the acceleration pack. As soon as I try to install any addon, fsx lags. Its really fustrating. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could recommend a set of setting to help get fsx running smoothly. The whole reason that i bought this graphics card was to play fsx. I've tried enabling DX10 mode but my framerates drop for some reason when i use this mode.

Steven

CPU speed is the biggest factor with FSX. As for settings that is an experimental thing, you need to read a lot and try various tweaks, FSX can behave quiet differently on two machines with exact same build. DX10 was an experiment, helps some not others but it can cause graphic issues, it was never finished. You will probably need to turn some setting down, without an overclock running your CPU over 4 gig it may struggle, and FSX can only use 4 gig of ram its a 32bit app, but the extra helps any other addons you may have. Just do a search for FSX tweaks, read a lot and experment.
